Our Story
Founders Christelle Dreyer and Silva Laukkanen had their first face-to-face encounter while hosting an inclusive dance jam in Cape Town in 2020. In that moment, they recognized the potential for something truly meaningful by joining forces. Later that same year, they embarked on a collaborative journey aimed at transforming their shared vision into a tangible and lasting reality.
Their dedication led them to apply for The Starling Grant in 2020, where they stood out among more than two thousand applicants, propelling them into a whirlwind of activity to bring Tractus Art to life. They are deeply honored and thrilled to embark on this exciting journey, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to share it with all of you.

Bringing together their talents and passions, our founders form a dynamic team. Silva has a deep interest in diversity, dance, and movement. Her work as a dance educator, mover, and advocate has taken her around the world. Christelle, a skilled communicator, channels her creativity through graphic design and her dedication to dance.
Through the art of dance, she uses her authentic voice, utilizing movement as a language to convey her thoughts and emotions. Together, their diverse expertise and shared vision drive their mission forward.
